Col Roisetta

Good excursion today, we followed the trail #23 to the Roisetta Col, just below the top of mount Roisetta. Here the kids are standing at about 2,900 mts, in front of the southern face of Matterhorn, freshly covered from snow - the first snow of the season.

The heat wave this year was quite serious, with the thermal zero moving up to 4,500 mts. Two weeks ago the classic way to climb the Matterhorn from the Lion's Head was closed because of the danger of rock falls.

Now the weather is back to normality (although the Lion's crest will stay closed for a few more days, the TV news said), a perfect Feast of Assumption.

The forecast for the next 2 days is rainy, therefore I am planning to complete some drawing before going back to Milano. I took with me pencils, Indian ink and watercolors but so far I have been little productive, I fancied more walking or reading books on my balcony.
